Haepinest is a bright, friendly locals café just across the river from the Old Town. In a quiet laneway off the bustling Maria-Theresien Strasse, you can find the cosy Crema Coffee and Delights. A huge picture window allows light to stream into this bright and comfy space with timber floors and tables, a high coffee bar and Italian Faema E61 espresso machine. Friendly baristas serve excellent coffee and a tempting range of homemade cakes, breakfast bowls and sourdough specialties. In a quaint stone square in the heart of the Old Town, you will find Tyrol’s oldest pastry shop, serving hungry and thirsty customers since 1803. Inside there is a lovely old-world charm with timber booths with red velvet cushions and large picture windows looking out on the ancient square. There is an extensive selection of cakes and a wide range of coffee variations to savour. Try the Munding Hauskaffe which comes with coffee and a chocolate biscuit that represents a shingle tile from the Golden Roof!

Located up the Triumphal Arch end of Maria-Theresein Strasse, Breakfast Club is a popular café serving all day breakfast and brunch. Inside, the café décor is modern with high tables with stools, low leather booths and a white and green colour palate including a feature bamboo forest wall. The café has an extensive menu including homemade or regionally sourced organic bread, free-range eggs, homemade spreads, Austrian mountain cheese, waffles and French toast. The coffee is Italian and well-made and they offer a range of options for those with intolerances including soy and oat milk as well as extensive vegetarian options. The café is very popular with locals and tourists alike!

On the edge of the Old Town, just back from the Inn River, you can find some of the best coffee in Innsbruck.
