Florence

Florence, birthplace of the Renaissance and the capital of the Tuscany region of Italy, is home to some of the most beautiful art and architecture in the world. Once home to luminaries such as Michelangelo and Da Vinci (who certainly left their mark), this city showcases such spectacular works as the Duomo and Michelangelo’s David, not to mention the priceless masterpieces of art found at the celebrated Uffizi Gallery. Florence (Firenze in Italian) is surrounded by the rolling hills of Tuscany, providing a brilliant backdrop from which to paint your own experience, whether that be amongst the bustling streets, or high above at one of the numerous roof top bars and eateries. An incredible cultural experience awaits, but if art and history is not your scene, spend some time eating your way through the Tuscan cuisine. Try a mouth-watering Bistecca alla Fiorentina (Florentine steak) and savour the aromas of a delicious glass of Tuscan wine. Just don’t forget to leave room for gelato!
